The Java source, no doubt. Yet, devs who want to just learn/code Java apps will only find binaries downloads. Nothing else serves the average Java software developer. "Developer's Guide" is for contributors.
Potential: high.
Reality: confusion.
Good starting point for enterprises interested in commercial support. Yet it quickly loses the focus, and confuses the user with links to other oracle.com properties unrelated to commercial support.
Potential: medium.
Reality: sales.
Just a front-door with lots of links to other online properties. Ironically, perhaps the most useful aggregation of Java-related web sites from Oracle.
Potential: low.
Reality: aggregator.
Used to be *the* go-to for JRE download. Since Sun Microsystems, focused on end-user (consumer) of Java-powered applications, where non-developers would download Java for day-to-day use (e.g. banking, games).
Potential: very high.
Reality: legacy.
What could've been the #1 place to learn Java, sadly is not linked from any of the previous locations. Documentation is deep, though inconsistent and with many outdated tutorials. Poor awareness.
Potential: very high.
Reality: inconsistent.
