Through his latest entry into the #NigeriaDecides2019 conversation, President Obasanjo helps to clarify issues that shd control the decision making of voters in the ballot. For him the question is the issue of #Nigeria's continuing coexistence.

In #NigeriaDecides2019, ppl will have to decide what issues matter most to them. Votes, outcomes & possibly the fate of a generation if not of a country will hang on these decisions. The defining issues are clear and all very important.
One issue clearly will be security or insecurity. It was a major issue in 2015. It remains so in 2019. For many #Nigerians, the question is: are you more secure today than you were 4 yrs ago & which of the candidates can make a better job of fighting insecurity
Another issue is the economy, clearly. Lives & livelihoods hand in the balance. What will happen to the value of the Naira, inflation, wages, financial inclusion, jobs, especially youth unemployment, debt overhang, poverty, etc?
Another big issue that #Nigerians surely care about is fighting impunity. This includes issues of institutional integrity, ethics in government, the fight against corruption & sustaining the rule of law & equal protection of the law for everyone
All these are important issues for #Nigerians & legitimately so. Different ppl will make different choices depending on their vintage. There is no reason to quarrel over the choices that ppl make in #NigeriaDecides2019 as long as those choices count & are lawfully counter
However, 1 issue towers above all else in #NigeriaDecides2019 - coexistence. #Nigeria has never been as divided before as it is today. Look for a leader who cn make #Nigerians, irrespective of where they are from, believe in their country & in 1 another. A candidate of #Naija4All
A president who can forge common faith among #Nigerians & help the country begin to find healing will be able to forge solutions to the myriad problems that confront the country. The country is not looking to elect a Pope in #NigeriaDecides2019; it's looking for a national leader

The gist of the story & clear intent to work to pre-determined outcome in the CJN #Onnoghen matter is buried in dates. The petition against CJN Onnoghen was dated 7 January. It was actually stamped into the office of the Chairman of the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) on 9 January
On the same day, 9 Jan, according to the ex-parte order of the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), which only became public yesterday, after the purported suspension of CJN #Onnoghen, the @Buhari administration filed a petition with the CCT for his removal
It's quite clear that there was no time between the receipt of the petition by the CCB & the referral to the CCT. Under the law, the obligation to verify claims made in asset declaration forms belongs exclusively to the CCB. This cld not have bn done before charges were filed.

Yesterday in Abuja, @NhrcTweets continued hearing in the case of #Justice4JohnOkon, involving the death of John Okon, the cook to @HEDankwambo, whom the #FSARS of @PoliceNG beat & tortured to death in Kaduna on 13 Nov 2018. The hearing was revealing

John Okon was a cook & good man. When he discovered that 4 TV sets belonging to his employer had gone missing, he asked @policeNG officers guarding the premises what happened. When they failed to account sensibly, he reported to the police. It was a fatal error

Mr. Okon worked for 10yrs for a man who was good friend to @HEDankwambo. When Gov informed his friend that he needed a trustworthy domestic hand, he sent John off to work for the Gov. On 13 Aug 2018, he was hired as PA to the Gov to cook in the Kaduna residence

Gombe State's @HEDankwambo employed 32 y.o John Okon to work in the Gov's residence in Kaduna. 8 Nov 2018, 4 TV sets were stolen from the premises. @PoliceNG arrested Mr. Okon & 4 othrs 9 Nov. 5 days later, they'd tortured him to death. This is his story

Mr. Okon's wife, Joy, was very pregnant. They lived together within the premises of the Governor’s private residence located along Pola Road, off Swimming Pool Road, in Kaduna. The pemises had 2 uniformed @PoliceNG guards & 2 other guards from a private security provider
On 8 Nov, 4 theatre TV Cinemas were discovered missing from the premises. There were only 3 ways to explain this: the burglars by-passed the guards or overpowered them or, alternatively, the guards did it. On 8 Nov, however, the police arrested the 4 guards & Mr. Okon

1. The political settlement we have - what I describe as the social democratic liberal consensus (for want of a better term) is one derived from the aftermath of WW2 building on interwar ideas. The EU and global order has grown up around what was established in 1948. It's dying.
2. This is what we are seeing in the USA and sweeping through Europe. Every administration that has stood since the war has been built on the authority and gravitas established at the birth of the UN on the back of America's moral victory in WW2.
3. Though old age, corruption and hypocrisy and wit the internet shining a torch on their frailties, we have pulled back the curtain and what is seen cannot be unseen. They now stand without gravitas and they themselves have robbed high office of dignity and prestige.

In the make-believe world of Beauregard, immigration law should be a Trump-like wall but instead is an "earthen dam," with dubious legal claims from crafty immigration lawyers "seeping" through. 2/
Obviously, this is nonsense. Immigration law does not block all people from seeking entry and admission to the United States in a wall-like fashion—to the contrary, many people have valid and perfectly legal claims to entry, admission, and relief from removal. By design. 3/
