John Okon was a cook & good man. When he discovered that 4 TV sets belonging to his employer had gone missing, he asked @policeNG officers guarding the premises what happened. When they failed to account sensibly, he reported to the police. It was a fatal error

Mr. Okon worked for 10yrs for a man who was good friend to @HEDankwambo. When Gov informed his friend that he needed a trustworthy domestic hand, he sent John off to work for the Gov. On 13 Aug 2018, he was hired as PA to the Gov to cook in the Kaduna residence

At the Kaduna residence of @HEDankwambo, John Okon lived in the servants' quarters with his wife, Joy. They had 1 daughter & Joy was pregnant with their 2nd baby. She'd joined John in Kaduna in the month before @policeNG killd him.

At @policeNG in Kaduna, John Okon, who voluntarily reported theft of 4 TV sets from the premises of @HEDankwambo, was turned into a suspect & clobbered to death. At his death on 13 Nov, John's legs were shattered, his spleen ruptured & he was urinating blood

Arrested also with John, his 25 yo wife, Joy, who was heavily pregnant, watched in detention as @PoliceNG beat life out of her husband. When she offered him water, they threatened to beat her. On the day her husband was killed, traumatised Joy had a baby, James

On 15 Nov, finally, @policeNG callously informed John's lawyers whom they'd blocked & stalled from seeing him, that his body was in the mortuary. That's how Joy & kids learnt John had died. Their petition to IGP went unanswered. So they approached @NhrcTweets

Over 2 days this week, 14 & 16 Jan, @NhrcTweets took evidence from witnesses on the case of #Justice4JohnOkon led by @GMabeiam. His wife & lawyers have testified. Doctors have produced autopsy. @policeNG have blamed him for dying & produced fake officers!

To help them unravel the mystery of this case in the face of the terrible behavior of @policeNG, @NhrcTweets has ordered the ADC to @HEDankwambo to appear before it next week. Since John died, the Gov has failed to show empathy or show up

The biggest mystery of all is this: #FSARS is supposed to do cases of armed robbery. This case of 4 stolen TVs never remotely involved robbery. So, how did a simple case of stealing end up with #FSARS & lead them to beat an innocent man to death?
