If Michael Cohen's father-in-law has something to hide, perhaps this is one reason Donald Trump might know about it.

Hmm. Can't quite put my finger on it, but something about that signature looks familiar.
The claim is that Cohen's father-in-law Fima Shusterman is the one who introduced Trump and Cohen. That's unproven, far as I've seen, but the timeline could certainly fit. Cohen joined Trump Org in 2007, but his father-in-law was buying up Trump properties for years before that.

I would be shocked if Cohen didn't say something false at yesterday's hearing, but this referral is impressively lame.
The most striking thing, however, is that none of the examples of alleged perjury have anything to do with Cohen's substantive claims against the president.

They were unable to find a single thing Cohen said about Trump that they could label a lie, even for PR purposes.
Although I will award @Jim_Jordan and @RepMarkMeadows half points for their claim that Cohen perjured himself when he testified that he was a good lawyer, because well they're not wrong.

I had low expectations for Cohen's hearing yesterday. Or to be more accurate: I had high expectations for its entertainment value, but very modest expectations for how substantively informative it'd be. Turns out, the hearing was indeed entertaining, but also hugely informative.
Due to the format, as well as Congress' general and non-partisan inability to ask useful questions, the information was presented in a disjointed, strung-out fashion, with much never getting followed up on, but still -- there was a ton that we learned.
Cohen is a lying liar, and most of what he says should be used as a signpost that points to areas for further investigation, but not taken as significant evidence in itself. Still, there's one thing even Cohen is unlikely to lie about: specific facts about the SDNY investigation.

In 2017, Trump's Vegas hotel had some seriously strange money flows. Here's a thread I made outlining the issue, but the tl;dr is that even though Trump co-owns the hotel with Phil Ruffin, the money was being diverted to LLCs that Trump alone owned.
In financial disclosures, the unexplained funds were labeled as "sponsorship fees" and "commissions" and "development fees," but when reporters asked about these millions, Ruffin and Trump claimed the money was for "back pay," and the issue went away.
Well today at the Cohen hearing, the issue unexpectedly came back up again -- in the context of Trump's $25M Trump University fraud settlement. Rep Speier asked Cohen about a "businessman in Kansas" being involved somehow in procuring the settlement funds. kansascity.com/news/politics-…

On this day in 2011, an Obama-ordered, CIA drone strike killed 16 year-old Abdulrahman al-Awlaki, an American citizen, his teenage cousin, & 5 other civilians as they were eating at an outdoor cafe in Southern Yemen.
