Tea Party strategies have been cunning, and after years of Democrats dealing and caving to GOP obstructionists, it's refreshing to see the Democrats finally holding firm.

Here are some of the Tea Party tactics that have led to the current crisis and made it imperative that Democrats draw a line in the sand:

🔗Organized locally to target members of Congress from grassroots levels, replacing moderate conservatives with hardcore Dominionists and Reconstructionists, like
• Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, Marco Rubio, Mark Meadows, Mark McCarthy, Steve King

🔗Aligned with evangelical leaders to spread the message, influence voters, like
• Falwell, Liberty University, the Heritage Foundation, Pat Robertson, Jeffrees, Hagee, the old Moral Majority

🔗Employed obstructionist tactics, including trampling Constitutional norms and boundaries to meet goals at any cost, like
• McConnell's reaching out to governors to countermand Obama:

The Tea Party combined with the Moral Majority back in the 1980s with the help of Koch. Now they're under a single umbrella organization called the Council for National Policy that has now managed to place its favored members and candidates at all levels.

CNP has tons of sub & linked orgs/leaderships like Liberty Counsel, Heritage Foundation, Liberty U, Breitbart, InfoWars, WND, WCF, Family Research Council...Lots of names containing Liberty, Values, Family, Freedom, Hope, Discovery...

1. The founders believed that the synergy of free, informed individuals with three independent branches of government would make democracy thrive. They didn't consider that the synergy of a campaign, a foreign power and a complicit majority party could destroy democracy.
2. The knew a free press was integral to our success, but they couldn't have envisioned the mass spread of propaganda - spawned and disseminated by foreign entities - through social media. Nor could they anticipate a major news network becoming a propaganda arm of the WH.
3. Further, they didn't likely imagine that our country would become so powerful that the choices of a rogue administration could inflict significant and lasting damage on a global scale - impacting economies, alliances and stability. Yet, here we are.

Despite big wins on election day for #Democrats, a small group of people continue to argue for major changes to the party through the Dem Unity Commission. Some proposed changes are getting rid of superdelegates and more caucuses. Let's discuss what these changes could mean /1
One proposed change is to remove super delegates from the primary nominating process for president. Supers are mostly elected representatives and major party members who can vote for whomever they want at the convention /2 dailykos.com/stories/2008/2…
Super delegates have never overturned the popular vote but do provided a fail-safe option in case the party needs them (Trump anyone?). They also help diversity in delegates because people dont need to compete w/ elected reps to go to the convention /3
