One of the best entirely unforeseen perks of publishing a translation of the Odyssey has been the gifts I have received from generous strangers, who are now gift-friends. Today’s post brought these charming bookmarks.
Another from a while ago was this wonderful piece of weaving.
This beautiful engraving of Calypso, by the artist, William Bates.
This gorgeous handmade temari, created while the artist, Janice Arrowsmith, was reading my translation, with colors to represent different Odyssey characters.
This lovely horse, from Amy Bernstein, when I went to talk in Baltimore.
This playmobil goddess, which in fact I have coveted for a long time and finally got, gift of @ae_stallings; thank you, it is just what I wanted.
