1/ Transparency International (@anticorruption) have just released their 'corruption perception index' rankings for the last year

2/ Since 2012, we've slipped from 7th to 13th and to be honest, it's not actually that hard to see why...

3/ In that same time period (since 2012), @LiberalAus and @AustralianLabor have received more than $100 million from some of the biggest corporations in #Auspol (and the World!) through political donations, or other means - such as 'business forums'

4/ While technically not 'corrupt', it's pretty shocking...

I think a lot of Australian's would agree.

5/ Here are 2 unrelated facts for you to perceive:

1. Adani have donated $75000+ to the major parties since 2012
2. Neither has ruled out allowing the Carmichael coal mine even though #ClimateChange is so obviously a thing AND we can power stuff for free with the sun #Auspol

6/ Research last year revealed that more Australians than ever are dissatisfied with #Auspol

My point is this: who is the system working for in #Auspol?

10/ I'm here by accident. Just over a year ago I was a student with a #HECS debt. A "leaner" studying #Auspol and (literally, just) scraping by.

I've experienced both extremes of economic inequality (yes, I would consider my current position an "extreme" by comparison) #Auspol

11/ Meanwhile, some of those big corporations I was talking about before have DONATED more money than they have PAID IN TAX. We have to call this s#!t out #Auspol

12/ We need a Federal #ICAC. We need to reform our corporate tax avoidance system. There are so many people in #Auspol who are struggling to make ends meet while @ScottMorrisonMP laughs in our Parliament with a lump of coal. We need transformative long-term change for the #FUTURE
