I am 100% here for @MayorTomButt of Richmond, CA, taking on Marin County's NIMBYs, and you should be, too: "Importing workers that require long commutes is simply exacerbating fossil fuel use and global warming.” sf.streetsblog.org/2019/01/28/ric…
This letter from Mayor Butt is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

"The root cause of congestion is failure of Marin to provide adequate affordable housing for its workforce, thus creating a massive commute from more affordable East Bay. This is an unsustainable problem that Marin needs to confront."
Christ it's even worse than I thought: Marin officials actually, lieterally want to *increase the number of commuters serving their plutocra ... er, residents.*

Saying the quiet part out loud: "We are concerned that this may adversely affect the ability of Marin workers to meet their employment obligations. Many of our teachers, safety workers such as police and fire, and other workers depend on the Bridge daily to get to work on time."
That's Marin-speak for "We expect our professional staff to arrive promptly to work teaching our children and arresting our city council members for DUI, then leave at the end of the day when we're done with them. We can not reasonably be expected to live among these cretins."
