@OpenFundingNG Like I said earlier, we need to drive structural change in the non-oil sectors of our economy to achieve sustainable growth. And we need to do it in two key sectors. Manufacturing and Agriculture. #GrowthForAll
@OpenFundingNG So far the GDP figures shows that the decline in the contribution of Agriculture is offset by increase in contribution of services as against industries. Most developed nations and emerging economies are increasing the contribution of manufacturing to their GDP....
@OpenFundingNG ...because that is one place u can good skilled Jobs. We must do same by investing heavily in capital expenditure like infrastructure (roads, rail and power) and also in the ease of doing business. We must also ensure that rates are at a level that can drive growth. #GrowthForAll
@OpenFundingNG It's indeed pleasing to see d efforts of d govt on the infrastructure side not just in rails & roads but also in power. The private sector driven Energizing Economies initiative (EEI) is a good example of how u can drive production through provision of IPPs powered by Gas & Solar
@OpenFundingNG Concerning Agriculture, government must continue to expand linkage programmes like the Anchor Borrowers Programme which is one initiative of the current CBN Governor that has been very successful not just in creating jobs and wealth but also growth. #GrowthForAll
@OpenFundingNG All these efforts must be private sector lead and driven with support from government in terms of policy. There is obviously a lot to be done. But I am optimistic we will get it right. END! #GrowthForAll
