Meet David Soares. Head of NY DA Assoc. Recently exposed for withholding video of an officer shooting & paralyzing a man running away as cops lied that he had a weapon. This man & his friends *right now* are using Trump-style fear & lies to keep NY evidence law worst in nation. 
NY prosecutors are terrified long overdue criminal justice change is about to happen. An end to a law that DENIES evidence to accused people until day of their trial. They're using fear propaganda about public safety & “fiscal costs.” Counter evidence: The rest of the country.
Gutwrenching. Marvin spent 11 months on Rikers. For drug possession. Prosecutors withheld the most critical evidence—the drug lab. NY law *allowed them* to do this. The pressure to plead got the better of him. But @NYGovCuomo @AndreaSCousins & @CarlHeastie can change this TODAY.
Akeem. Wrongfully accused. 9 mos on Rikers while prosecutor withheld video that ultimately won case. The person on video not him. This couldnt have happened in rest of country. But *NY law* allowed this. Guess who’s fighting against change? NY prosecutors.
