1) Here's going to be my main firing point about the Green New Socialism: going 100% green in 10 years is fucking impossible. Obama dumped close to $7.5 billion into developing green energy, and $1.6 billion of that went to companies that went bankrupt. dailysignal.com/2012/10/18/pre…
2) They made it a 10 year plan because the far left, which now includes most of the presidential candidates for the Dems, wants to make this a core pillar of the Democrat platform.

Their assertions around WHY this needs to happen are blunt unsupported statements and weasel words
3) For instance, they call the United States the 'dominant' creator of pollution and propose these efforts as if the United States is doing nothing.

First off, what is 'dominant'? Does that mean the largest?

Hell no.
4) If we're talking air pollution, the EU, whose member countries have to throw all their GDPs together to even approach the US, produce more overall air pollution than the United States. nimonik.com/2018/05/air-qu…
5) China produces more raw garbage, 300 million tons per year of solid waste as compared to the United States' 250 million tons.
6) So, are we the largest? No. So what does 'dominant' mean? It means the only country Dems have any actual ability to demand anything within. See: the Paris Climate Accords, where the US reduced its pollution even after withdrawing from it while every other country failed
7) Am I saying trying to reduce pollution is bad? No, of course not. I very much prefer NOT breathing in smog like what happens in China and would prefer not stepping in human waste like what happens in San Francisco.
8) But, Democrats consistently fail to recognize exactly how much trying to stop natural resource extraction would fuck up. Example: you do NOT want to know how much oil goes into the roads you drive on every freaking day.
9) Oh, and would you look at that.

Democrats fucking PLAGIARIZED a UN 10 year 100% green plan.

Go fucking figure.

10) Look, here's what I say.

The US is doing good at transitioning to green energy already. Really, we are. The % of green energy in our power grid jumped to 18% in '17 from 15% in '16. In 2018, it hit 21.6%. cleantechnica.com/2018/09/16/ren…
11) Give it a good, say, 30-40 years? And we probably WILL be completely green for our power grid, WITHOUT government mandates, WITHOUT further subsidies by the Federal government, WITHOUT government intervention period.
12) What Democrats want is to push and scream and DEMAND that we go green IMMEDIATELY so that they can claim the credit for the push to green energy and blame all the economic shocks that would probably throw us into another recession on naysayers and 'obstruction' like Obamacare
13) I say, fuck them. The market is already pushing that direction. We've all seen Bladerunner and other dystopian future movies that hollywood has sufficiently scared us away from an environment where we have to worry about acidic rain and shit
14) If the Republicans were smart, that would be the exact argument they'd take too. The US doesn't need the government to intervene to force our energy towards renewables. The GOP doesn't have to fall into the trap of fighting about climate change as if its a serious topic.
