Main Government Brexit motion defeated by 258 to 303. More egg on face for Theresa May, who's now sporting an entire beard omelette. Gleeful cheers in the HOC, and even some loud laughter. Her credibility is blown to smithereens.
Jeremy Corbyn rightly calls her out for not even bothering to be in the Chamber to hear the result. No doubt she'd read the tea leaves and is now hiding away in a bunker somewhere, scraping mould off jam...
John Bercow gave the Brexit Secretary and his front-bench colleagues ample chance to reply to JC's point of order. All of them looked at their shoes and declined.
Net result is that if Theresa May now goes back to the EU, they can quite rightly say "the HOC doesn't support your negotiating approach - why should we make any concessions?" And there's no real answer to that.
