this is a fatally flawed argument. who can tell me why?
• wild assertions of "what programmers are good at"
• totally illogical presumptions about how education works (hint: there isn't a single body of pedagogical research that says 'examples aren't important')
• no clue about what expertise is
• "i'm clearly a universal case!"
he also claimed that because modeling database and writing SQL *involves* set theory that it *IS* set theory, which is like, a rectangle is not a square bb
coding isn't about WRITING LINES OF CODE.

it's about building a model of the problem domain, holding it in your head, and THEN using the tool at hand to get the result you want

…………………………

just like database modeling and querying
watch out for talk about a *task or hobby* as if it makes someone a unique kind of animal:
"programmers are great at _____"
"programmers suck at _______"

can't be supported! LITERALLY the only thing that defines a programmer is PROGRAMMING. nothing else.
