We need people!

As a college alternative, expose your children to mfg whether it be electronics, welding, or CNC programming.

All are great paying jobs at $30 - $40 per hour.
@C_3C_3 @TheLastRefuge2 2) These jobs are all obtainable in a fraction of the time one spends earning a degree - often not worth the paper it's printed on.

This is a CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine). I've been programming and running one since I left Nuclear subs and now make 6 figures - no degree!
@C_3C_3 @TheLastRefuge2 3) The probe (lower right) rotates from 0 to 105 deg and articulates 360 deg around.

It's fully programmable from a solid 3D model. 6 probe touches by me then the machine takes over.

It's accuracy is about. 00006 linearly and .0009 though out it's volume.

Code Pink made a list of "thought leaders" for #Venezuela that includes at least four Russian government employees but not a single Venezuelan or Latinx person. Some people included on the list are currently in Caracas as guests of the Maduro regime.
This is one of the people included on the list. She thinks all is fine in Venezuela except for the absence of "luxuries" (actual words) such as "toilet paper" and "bottle water".

I'm seeing a lot of "It's complicated" tweets about #Venezuela. That should go without saying. But one thing isn't complicated. Mere minutes after #Guaido declared himself interim President, the US recognised him as the legitimate President. It was clearly co-ordinated.
There's a debate about whether the US is backing or orchestrating the Guaido Coup but there should be no debate about whether it is a coup. It is somewhat akin to Andrea Leadsom or John Bercow unilaterally declaring themselves interim PM. It's undemocratic and unconstitutional.
Lots of folks saying Maduro has led a corrupt, ineffectual, & violent Government. Lots of others seeking to make this about Chavez. Most cite a wider economic context of Venezuelan discontents but not so much a wider global economic context of Venezuela's poor economy.

Why me? I have #HumanRights background, a university job & #LatinAmerica experience. Basically bupkus in the terrordome politics of desperate people in Trumpland. But I bought them coffee (and a snowman cookie for a young 'un) and listened...
What separates me from them? Increasingly little. They were upper middle class and now scrounge for off the books manual labor. Would they be killed if they returned? Not immediately -- but slowly: no work, no food, no medicine, no hope. They've become #Refugees ...
