It's important to remember that the Catholic Church's crisis is part of the more general loss of prestige of institutions. Hollywood, the media, politicians, prestigious academic institutions ... even Communism has lost its shine.
We live in an age of fallen idols. One problem going forward is how to reconcile ourselves to the sad fact that ALL human institutions are bound to be flawed. And yet we must go on, fallen though man may be.
For though we may not believe the cops are honest we still believe in justice. Even though most politicians may be crooks one can still believe in democracy. How we can live on this imperfect earth is humanity's chief challenge.

The true state of the Catholic Church is the collective experience of those who have been its parishioners student and members. That's reasonably good. The state of the hierarchy is another matter.
This fact means there should be no holding back from ditching undesirables. They are no loss.
The main asset of the church is not the buildings but the information payload in its custody. What has made the Catholic Church resilient despite the numerous abuses of the hierarchy through history is the relative stability of its doctrine, liturgy and creed.

Conventional war has now been replaced by a cocktail of lawfare, info war, population movement and targeted physical intimidation. The Russians, Chinese, Ummah, EU and USA have their versions.
The imperative of national unity and cultural cohesion which characterized the era of external conflict is being replaced by the need to form ever smaller subgroups. In the quest for dominance we no longer fight over Sugarloaf Hill, we fight over institutions.

#FDR promoted the idea that the people of the world, in all nations, shared entitlement to four freedoms: that of the freedom of speech and expression, the freedom of worship, the freedom from want and the freedom from fear.
#FDR is arguably one of the most 'successful' #US Presidents. Some would argue that on the basis of his numerous social policies such as 'the New Deal'. Others, however, would argue that his role during the second world war was more prevalent to his success & everlasting legacy.
