What now is unfolding - and will only increase in intensity - is the fallout for NeverTrumpers at NRO, the Weekly Standard (now Bulwark) and other outlets for their complicity in the Russian collision hoax. They may try to distance themselves now that it’s falling apart but...
Those of us who’ve followed it closely, and been frustrated at their collusion buy-in while at the same time either ignoring or justifying FISA/SPYgate, know the score. Hail Marys about dossiers or suddenly insistence they were “skeptics” all along won’t wash.
If you defended the FBI’s probe into Trump campaign, you defended the dossier and all of its owners and handlers. Period. To suggest otherwise is totally dishonest and an attempt to rewrite a history that’s in print.

OK...let's try again. Even before December 2017, when @carterwpage gave this interview to Jason Zengerle of the NYT's, he was telling anybody who would listen to him where the real collusion was in the 2016 election.

Page insisted the *real* collusion in the 2016 campaign was between the Hillary Clinton Campaign, Fusion GPS & top officials inside the DOJ/FBI.

You can see Zengerle spinning this as an alternative narrative crafted by a guy desperate to remain revelevant and in the news.
Now at the time Zengerle could be forgiven for saying there was 'scant evidence' to support the narrative Carter Page was 'crafting', but at this point in September of 2018 as we look back, a whole lot of evidence has come out to support Page's claims.

This onion has so many layers to peel back. There's the Russian "dossier" (was it used to get a FISA warrant to spy on Carter page and the Trump campaign?). We now know, after empathic & sanctimonious denials from the Clinton camp, that the DNC and Clinton paid $12 million for it
Moreover, these payments to Kremlin officials for fake dirt on Trump were secretly laundered through a law firm to keep them hidden from public knowledge. This in itself constitutes major felonies. Then there are the series of new bombshell reports by the Hill newspaper.
The reports by the Hill are what brought this issue, dormant mere weeks ago, back to life. The basic framework of the Uranium One story were already pretty well known, thanks to journalist Peter Schweizer, author of the book, Clinton Cash.
