Really surprised that very few people in India, especially the media, are calling out the Modi Govt Bluffs on "Secrecy" in #RafaleDeal. This is getting desperate and bizarre by the day (1/n)
The whole world knows what variant of Rafale we are buying. Anyone can go to the Dassault aviation website, and see the compatible weapons of the F3R standard of Rafale. (2/n)
When the deal was announced all Media houses were blowing the trumpet about the weaponry included in it. The then Defence Minister Parrikar had himself given interviews describing features such as the Helment Mounted Display System (HMDS) etc (3/n)
When the doubts were first raised about the price of the Modi deal, BJP propaganda, its Union Ministers Piyush Goyal et al tweeted BJP IT cell memes talking about the Meteor BVR & SCALP missiles, Thales Radar and so on, to justify increased cost. (4/n)
And now, after having blown the trumpet themselves about the weaponry, we are being told by them that its price is a TOP secret, cannot be shared?

Our enemies themselves buy weapons from the int'l markets. They know variants of weapons compatible with Rafale, & thanks to BJP Propaganda’s own Bragging in the past, they also know what configuration we are buying. They also know the typical price these can be bought at. (6/n)
Anyone with web access can find out that the German Air force paid ~€2 million per piece for Meteor Missiles, & from the French Senate Website the whole cost of Rafale program.

Now we are being told, not only the price, but even the MoD file telling us that PMO interfered & undermined the negotiations, or that anti-corruption clause was dropped last minute, IS TOP SECRET?

Even @DefenceMinIndia was apparently unaware of the secrecy needs when she promised full item-wise disclosure in Nov 2017?
