Zuck making privacy promises; Presidential wannabes beating the populist drum on tech-antitrust; Utah & Colorado joining Wyoming in awesome while Texas craps all over its cowboy roots; & surveillance capitalism podcasts for days.

It's Liberty Crypto Reader 3, Twitter edition👇
2/ First up…Facebook CEO released a memo outlining his “privacy focused vision for social networking.” Given the absolute well-spring of trust he’s cultivated over the years, the crypto community took it at face value right? Lol.
3/ Okay let’s hang on this for just a second to enjoy the perfect savageness of this:
4/ Anyway, in a big up to the “yo, this is just regulatory front-running” crowd, almost immediately Elizabeth Warren announced proposed anti-trust action against tech. medium.com/@teamwarren/he…
5/ There is a lot to unpack, and it’s safe to say that the conversation about tech monopolies is going to continue and grow in volume. This is, after all, why whole big chunks of people working in the crypto space got involved in the first place
6/ For many of us, the real question is with the major tech co's is surveillance - particularly where those networks are subject to influence from nefarious governments. This was the subject for this week’s @WhatBitcoinDid with @AmberBaldet
7/ A couple more pieces on surveillance because it’s like…really seriously important.

First is another great pod on the topic from @_jillruth @melt_dem blockworksgroup.io/podcasts/what-…

Second is this essay on compelling devs to enable spying
8/ Meanwhile, govt's everywhere are lining up on either side of “crypto is an opportunity” / “crypto must be stopped!”

Texas is looking to ban anonymous transactions while Colorado joins @CaitlinLong_ at the Wyoming freedom party
9/ Internationally, the same very varied responses are playing out. The financial head of the French National Assembly, for example, called for a ban of anonymous cryptos while Argentina, well…just check it:
10/ Of course, Liberty Crypto isn’t just for places far away. In this thread @TR401 connects the dots between an economic cooperative system that developed in the 18th century in the West Indies, minority growth in mobile banking and lending, and crypto.
11/ Lastly, big congrats and much excitement to @HRF on their new publication, which kicks off with a spectacular 101 on Bitcoin privacy from @ercwl. Can’t wait to read literally everything you publish.
12/ And that’s that for LCR3. Head on over to @coinmine for the full issue, and, as Mad-Eye Moody would say, “Constant Vigilance!” coinmine.com/blogs/liberty/…
