1/ I've been asked this question before & would recommend the following to all:

-- Learn to read a Bar Chart. Like most traders, I started out using candlestick charts until I read the book Trades About to Happen: A Modern Adaptation of the Wyckoff Method by David H. Weis.
2/ Using bar chart examples, Mr. Weis excellently explains how to interpret price action (buyers vs sellers; support vs resistance) to figure out what's most likely to happen next. Be prepared to really study (lots of rereading & flipping back & forth to look at charts on pages)
3/ I spent a good length of time (months) using bar charts exclusively before reverting to candlesticks. Weis also discusses volume w/ price movement but I found the study of bar charts provided me w/ some A-HA moments.
4/ Next, if you don't already,

-- Sign up for Weis' free nightly report. Like @FuturesTrader71's daily AM videos, it's a read on current market behavior & a complement to one own's work:

5/ In addition to price action, I find that recognizing chart patterns & calculating measured moves allows me to keep targets 🎯 in mind for trades. (But remember, "Don't be a dick for a tick.")

-- Check out Thomas Bulkowski's free chart pattern index -- thepatternsite.com/chartpatterns.…
6/ Of course, patterns can invalidate anytime (thus place stops accordingly). Bulkowski's work is extensive & includes stats.

These are the top things that come to mind. Anyone else have something to share?

7/ Thanks for the question, @MattFtheOracle 😀
