@tonetalks and @BreakingBrown, I've read your points about a #BlackAgenda and to be honest, I disagree with money of the points. As an #ADOS myself, there's a lot to benefit personally and for my family. I do have issues with how you dismiss a general progressive agenda.
I'm going to go step by step so there is no confusion or emnity. First, let me start by posting the link to the black agenda ados101.com/black-agenda. In the following tweets, I'm going to go step by step through them and how they relate to a progressive agenda in general
First plank: A specific affirmative action program for #ADOS. I have no arguments there as we know affirmative action helped white women more than anyone. We do need specific help in educational and job opportunities.
Second plank: 'Once affirmative action is streamlined as a government program only and specifically for ADOS, the program should be fully reinstituted'. No arguments again. Once we are in a more level playing field, we can get these programs back to working for all.
Third plank: reinstating the Voters Rights Act to completion. 100% agree and that's a general progressive policy.

Fourth plank: guaranteeing that 15% of governmental contracts go-to #ADOS contractors. No issues there. I would say that this needs to be picked up in a federal progressive agenda.
Fifth plank: infrastructure improvements for #ADOS communities. I agree totally and that any true progressive agenda would address the inequities in infrastructure caused by racism and profiteering.
Sixth plank: reparations specifically g for those in #ADOS communities affected by environmental terrorism. 100% agree. As part of a #GreenNewDeal, these communities would be cleansed and made whole.
Seventh plank: mass incarceration of #ADOS. This is one of the most heinous current grievances. Many progressive want to end cash bail (@BernieSanders some about this specifically) and reform this mess of a criminal injustice system.
Eighth plank: strengthening HBCUs and making college more affordable for #ADOS students. No arguments with that. Many progressives support #CollegeForAll but I do agree 100% with increasing HBCU endowments.
Ninth plank: strengthening the job market for #ADOS tech workers. No issues with making sure our brightest are able to succeed in tech. Not sure about the visa issue though personally so I'd like to learn more.
Tenth plank: auditing banks to determine discrimination in lending. 100% agree. Many progressives are for ending redlining and other discriminatory lending practices.
Eleventh plank: Mandate that the government’s advertising budget include Black media. 100% agree that at least 10% of advertising by the federal govt should go to #ADOS media. I'd doubt that many progressives would agree.
Twelveth plank: student loan forgiveness for #ADOS. Most progressive agree that ALL student loan debt should be forgiven for the same reasons you stated in the black agenda
13th plank: a health Care credit to cover #ADOS medical expenses. Here's where I and other progressives would disagree. Most are for #MedicareForAll, which would eliminate health care discrepancies due to #ADOS lack of quality jobs.
14th plank: reparations for #ADOS in general for centuries of oppression. 100% agree we need to do something and I'd want @SandyDarity and @DarrickHamilton overseeing that within HR 40.
After going through the #BlackAgenda step by step, there's plenty of intersections in policy. This is why I believe we should all work together to reach the goals within and outside of a general progressive agenda without dismissing helping all.
