I support the Electoral College but it's absurd to pretend like we don't understand why folks might be upset that the guy who got fewer votes still became president. I mean, it is perfectly rational and reasonable to be critical of such a system, even if the alternative is worse.
We live in an era where everyone pretends that every position the hold is unassailable and every counter argument is insane. It's tedious. OF COURSE it's not ideal that the guy who fewer people wanted to be president still became president. That is definitely a downside of the EC
And God help us if it happens again. Probably our best chance at real civil unrest would be a second Trump term won without the majority support of the public. Whatever happens, I pray to God that isn't it.
