Understand Number 10 now seriously considering indicative votes on Brexit next week. Government source tells me there could be 7 options: PM deal, revocation, second ref, deal + customs union, deal + customs + single market, FTA or no deal
Source says No10 in “panic mode”. Meaningful vote would still be held, but expectation is it will fail. Indicative votes would follow. Kwasi Kwarteng hinted this morning any such votes would be ‘free votes’ - not whipped.
A Downing St source referred me to David Lidington’s remarks in the Commons when I asked if No10 now backing indicative votes. Lidington has previously said MPs could be given more opportunities to express opinions on Brexit.

Understand indicative votes have also been discussed in meetings between government ministers and opposition MPs. Still a lot up in the air though...

PM will soon address EU leaders at Brussels summit. She normally speaks for approx 15 mins. EU leaders can then ask her questions but they won't all sit and 'negotiate' together. After questions, Theresa May will leave the room so the 27 leaders can debate amongst themselves /1

A vote, won by cheats, sensationalising and radicalising opinions that appealed to the most base instincts of an already fearful populous.
Mass media is taking its lead from the loudest voices with the most money. Oversimplifying and exaggerating the voices and agenda of key players who represent the richest and most powerful.

Despite her #BREXIT deal being defeated by biggest margin a government has lost a vote ever maybot seeks concessions on backstop despite being told to bog off by the EU with no realistic hope of a different answer
Corbyn meanwhile refuses to talk #BREXIT without no deal being ruled out despite knowing she can't do this whilst maybot makes no concessions either.

I talked to business lobby groups, Stephen Kelly from @ManufacturingNI fresh back from talks with Barnier. And bosses of big companies.

- all-UK in a temporary customs Union
- Northern Ireland only in Single Market for goods, via devolution
- no checks GB-NI
- 'de-dramatised checks on regs NI-GB

To clarify, I am remain, but I feel a 2nd ref is monumentally risky & perhaps dangerous:-

1. Polls haven't changed much, result could easily be the same
2. Another campaign of hate will embolden the far right
3. If remain win. Leavers will demand another vote
4. Chaos & unrest are likely whatever the result, possibly violence too

What happens if it's still 'Leave'? Picture the chaos, square one. You're simply allowing the Tories more time to fail to come up with a solution. Every day that continues people in this country will suffer
What if it's 'Remain'? Leavers will, with some justification, query why this vote is more valid than the first. This has the potential to cause a constitutional crisis.

People can say 'we know the facts now' all they like, that will not placate millions of angry voters.

"#Brexit and EU agencies", our extensive look into third country relationships of the 36 EU agencies and how the UK might fit in.

Albeit largely technical, agencies will have huge implications on Brexit.

Five points stand out in particular:
First, Agencies matter. Like the customs union, they are a technical aspect of the EU, that works and was thus hardly discussed in the UK before #Brexit.
But they are important for single market, but also justice and home affairs.

UK gov thus has already asked to continue participation in selected agencies, in particular in sectors important to the UK economy, like aviation, chemicals or pharma.
