1. Hey friends. Lots to absorb given the AG’s letter. I would urge everyone not to despair. We need to see what Mueller found. It could very well be that he found evidence of presidential crimes but the (ill-advised) OLC memo prohibited indicting a sitting president . . .
2. It could be that matters have been passed on to other US Attorney’s office for continued investigations and prosecutions. What I know is that we can all have faith in the work of Bob Mueller. He is fair, thorough, professional and fearless. I will have faith in his findings.
3. The quest to hold wrongdoers accountable is far from over. Please hang on and hang in there. It may not seem like it at the moment, and the fight has just gotten a bit harder, but . . . #JusticeIsComimg #InBobWeTrust

1. Here is my concern: Mueller said he could not exonerate/clear Trump from having obstructed justice. This is a DRAMATIC statement. Mueller is extremely circumspect, thoughtful and careful. IMO, Mueller would not have said this if there wasn’t strong evidence of obstruction...
2. I’m concerned (& admittedly somewhat confused) by Barr’s gratuitous statement that HE concludes there is insufficient evidence to charge Trump with obstruction. This undermines confidence in Barr’s integrity & impartiality. But I maintain that Barr’s statement means little...
3. Barr’s conclusion is but one man’s view of evidence collected during an expansive investigation by Mueller. Barr’s view may be purely ideologically driven & therefore not reliable. The only MEANINGFUL view of the evidence is the view of Congress & the view of We The People...

1. So Giuliani is now calling Bob Mueller “weak” and “pathetic” for “punting” on the obstruction issue. Bob Mueller is the single most decisive supervisor I ever worked for. I dealt with him daily on tactical and legal questions when he was my Chief of Homicide in DC...
2. As a supervisor, he would give you about 5 minutes to lay out the evidence & frame the issue & then he gave you a prompt, concrete decision. Bob Mueller doesn’t do hemming and hawing. He is EXTREMELY decisive...

1. Two possibilities: he knows most of the report will be made public, so in one breath he says “let the public see it” then in the next 10 breaths he tries (in vain) to dirty-up and discredit Bob Mueller hoping he can undermine all the personally devestating info in the report.
2. He believes Barr will bury the report so Trump can thereafter claim, “hey, I said let the people see it, so you can’t blame me for the AG’s decision to withhold the report.” Now, no one can accuse Trump of being a tactical thinker, so he may have no strategy at all, but...
3. I firmly believe that option # 1 is the most likely scenario-Trump knows the report is going to be made public and its findings will be devastating to him, so he will continue to beat up on Mueller. But remember, Mueller was a Marine infantryman and war hero - he can take it.

1. What's stopping @RepJerryNadler from issuing #Mueller subpoena?
Is it #ExecutivePrivilege? The idea that there is executive privilege over Mueller testifying in congress is beyond absurd. Executive privilege is to protect Presidential communications with advisers.
2. This was a criminal probe of the President. There is no possibility that Executive Privilege attached especially where it's likely he took the 5th. This is a red herring.
3. Grand Jury Rule 6(e)? Barr can easily obtain a waiver from Beryl Howell the DC chief judge. Again nonesense.
National Security? Sure, that's what redactions are for.

(THREAD) The Barr Summary—a very different document from the Mueller Report—is being woefully misread by media. It doesn't import what media is suggesting it does. Lawyers are welcome to comment on this thread as I report the Summary accurately. I hope you'll read on and retweet.
1/ Mueller was supposed to decide if Donald Trump could be charged with Obstruction of Justice—or, if not chargeable, whether he should be referred to Congress for impeachment for Obstruction of Justice. But AG Barr usurped Mueller's job and decided to make that decision himself.
2/ Barr was selected by Donald Trump upon Trump's reading of documents written by Barr and sent to Trump allies arguing Trump *couldn't* be charged with Obstruction of Justice. So in not forcing Mueller to make the decision his appointment obligated him to make, Barr saved Trump.

Maybe he knows one of Mueller’s lines of investigation led to him. And he knew staying in that position of power was too steep a conflict of interest in light of the overwhelming and damning facts against Trump he may have gotten wind of.
Ppl need to remember we’re dealing w/potential historic US Constitutional changes in light of Trump’s abuses of Office.

We’re on new ground imo

Who’s to say the SC office hasn’t ‘already’ secretly conferred with the Justices over the Constitutionality of this Trump debacle?

Just one week ago, Mueller submitted a memorandum stipulating that "a Special Counsel may conclude that investigating otherwise unrelated allegations against a central witness in the matter is necessary to obtain cooperation."
My speculative theory is Rosenstein kicked this up to SDNY to insulate Mueller from the Trump backlash he knew it would provoke.
The conservative freakout about this raid amounts to the argument that when federal investigators find evidence people in Trump’s inner circle committed crimes, they should just decline to investigate. For Trump’s friends, everything, for everyone else, the law.
