In what seems at first glance like a paradox, the rage level directed at the small number of journalists who expressed skepticism over the collusion conspiracy has *increased* since Mueller closed his investigation. But it's consistent with human nature:
The Mueller Report should be released as quickly & fully as possible. But nothing in it can change the key fact: not just that Mueller did not indict Trump, Jr., Kushner, etc., but did not charge *one American* with election-conspiring with Russia. That guts the media narrative.
It is astounding that CNN & especially MSNBC continue to exclude all dissent from its air. The journalists who expressed skepticism about the collusion conspiracy theory are not heard from. They can't allow them to be heard because it will ruin the scam
I started to compile the videos, articles & tweets of those who kept insisting Mueller would arrest people for conspiracy with Russia, that Trump Jr. & Kushner were are on their way to prison, etc. I gave up: not just because it's too voluminous but because you know who you are.
If you claim to care about a free press and the value of journalism as much as you've spent two years flamboyantly proclaiming each time Trump insulted Chuck Todd, then you should own up to what you did voluntarily, not because you're shamed into it. Restore faith in journalism.
There was a lot of great journalism done about Trump's falsehoods & his shady finances (centered far more in the Gulf states than Russia). But "we got a lot of things right" is not a motto for restoring faith in journalism. Journalism that refuses self-accountability is worthless
The false stories over 2+ years from the media were not just embarrassing but dangerous. The collusion conspiracy was a farce but the PUTIN-CONTROLS-TRUMP-THE-TRAITOR fairy tale was clinically unhinged, blatantly false & contradicted by all evidence. dw.com/en/donald-trum…
Yes, let's see the Mueller Report. Perhaps it will have more incriminating facts about Trump that the Barr letter excluded. But it is impossible - given the lack of indictments & what we know Mueller did conclude about collusion - that it will exonerate the media.
Finally: it's true Rachel Maddow was the most unhinged & destructive voice. But the attempt to scapegoat her is similar to Judy Miller and Lynndie England: women sacrificed for *pervasive sins*. Maddow utterly embarrassed herself but she wasn't alone
