From the Green New Deal to Medicare for None, it’s ironic that so many Democrats are choosing to pivot to socialism just as Republican policies are helping create an incredible economic moment for the American people.
More job openings than Americans looking for work for the first time since record-keeping started. Unemployment at a 49-year low. The fastest wage growth in a decade.
This All-American comeback is being helped along by a set of Republican ideas and policies that are the polar opposite of what our Democratic friends are now calling for.

The Green New Deal, my Democratic colleagues’ rallying cry: Killing off entire domestic industries. Winding down millions of jobs. Basically outlawing the only sources of energy that working-class and middle-class families can actually afford.
It’s remarkable to see a party coalesce around a proposal to forcibly remake the entire country on the whims of Brooklyn and San Francisco. But it’s been even more stunning to see my Democrat colleagues angry and upset that the plan they support is about to get a vote.
Later today, the American people will see which of their senators can do the common-sense thing and vote “no” on this destructive socialist daydream.

When we vote later this morning, we will not only be deciding whether to elevate a stunningly-qualified judge to our highest court. Not anymore. Not after all this. The United States Senate will also be making a statement.
We will either state that facts and evidence can be brushed aside when politically inconvenient, and signal that media bullying and mob intimidation are valid tactics - or we will stand up and say that serious, thoughtful, fact-based deliberation must still define this body.
We will either give notice that totally uncorroborated allegations are now, officially, enough to destroy an American’s life - or we will declare that our society cannot, must not, set the bar so low.

Here are the facts before us: This is an allegation of misconduct which all four supposed witnesses either flatly contradict or are unable to back up. It’s not just one alleged witness disagreeing with the allegations -- it’s literally every person who was supposedly there.
Hundreds of men and women who have known Brett Kavanaugh across his life have written or spoken out that he is a man of strong character and tremendous integrity. Numerous witnesses testified that Brett Kavanaugh is a trusted mentor, and a lifelong champion of women.
It remains beyond reasonable dispute that Judge Kavanaugh’s legal brilliance and excellence on the bench make him one of the very most qualified Supreme Court nominees in memory.

This is a troll. It's a variation of the concern troll and the purpose of it is to scare Democrats into thinking the Green New Deal is a political loser and to back away from it. Democrats should not be scared.
On the contrary, the reaction to this troll is to double down on the Green New Deal. Republicans clearly fear it, which is why they're trying to scare Democrats off embracing it. But it is important to be smart about fighting back. salon.com/2019/03/27/ale…
To fight this troll, I'd simply note that the issue of climate change is too serious for these kinds of political games, and that while Republicans are acting like children, Democrats are trying to save the planet for actual children.

The words ownership and control are bolded because they are key. When the government owns and controls something, for instance, a Veterans Administration hospital, that is an element of socialism.

We have worked hard to rebuild trust on our presidential process. Rules and Bylaws Cttee working with early states on rules. A key rule change ends superdelegates voting 1st round absent consensus candidate BUT elected officials can still be PLEOs & not run against constituents.
The PLEO Party Leader Elected Official designation is for pledged delegates who are Members of Congress Governors etc who want a first round #DNC convention vote but don’t want to run against activist to get there.
