You couldn’t pay me to install an Alexa in my home. Ok maybe a million dollars. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
Also: AI is still bullshit. It’s made of people.
Why a million dollars? Well, when I first requested my Cambridge Analytica data it cost £10. Then British lawyers came out of the woodwork to represent my data quest to fully excercise my data rights. Then its value inflated beyond a million dollars in legal fees on contingency.
Data isn’t the new oil. Its valuation is far more elastic than an equivalent extractable commodity. Your data is either worth nothing, a pittance, or a small fortune. It all depends.
Just look at Facebook’s ARPU (Average Revenue Per User) and how much it varies by region. You don’t even need to be litigious to see the elasticity. statista.com/statistics/251…
