During the campaign, one of the things Bolsonaro promised to do was to "take ideology out of our foreign policy", which he accused PT of doing.
Eduardo Bolsonaro is now going to Europe to forge an alliance with far-right leaders, which seems somewhat ideological to me.
This shows how the far right thinks of ideology: what other people have. Their own far-right, nationalist ideology is treated as "default", and the more you deviate from it, the more "ideological" you are.

Today marks the 55th anniversary of the military coup that plunged Brazil into a decades-long dictatorship
It was a time of rampant torture, press censorshp, arbitrary arrests and a brutal extermination campaign against indigenous groups, all lead by the state

As we remember this dark period of our history, we must stand clearly and unequivocally against those who wish to falsify history and downplay the atrocities of the time.
Bolsonaro is one of these revisionists, which makes it particularly important that we fight against this lie.

-Extinguished Food Security Council
-Handed control of Amazon protection and indigenous rights to Agribusiness lobby
-Removed LGBT from human rights protection policies
-Set minimum wage at lower value than was approved by congress

When talking about how the Clinton's policies exacerbate the immigration crisis she wants to crackdown on, the example is usually Libya and other Middle Eastern destabilization campaigns. (+)

Rarely mentioned, however, is the 2009 Honduran coup, which she supported with the full weight of the US Department of State.
This coup created the very conditions that has forced many to leave the country and join the now famous 'caravan' making its way to the US. (+)
The 2009 coup has not only contributed to the current migration wave, but also plunged Honduras into a crisis it has not yet overcome. It also created a large scale political crisis in Latin America, with regional powers siding with the ousted Zelaya against the US. (+)

One of the things Bush administration officials and its cheerleaders really airbrush out of history is that at the time the invasion started, Saddam had made big concessions on inspections and IAEA & UNMOVIC were on the ground saying they were finding anything.
I was a dumb 18 year-old with a lot of wrong ideas at the time who’d spent the previous year agreeing with the pro-war case, and I could see plain as day that something was wrong. They didn’t actually have the intel they said they had.
In the broad sweep of things, my current view of foreign policy is just totally different and we never should have been in that position in the first place.

But even from inside the four walls of the mainstream blob consensus, that mid-March decision-making made no sense.

One thing that would have helped me come out sooner was having access to language. I didn't know about non binary, genderfluid, agender, etc. My whole understanding of transgender was a boy who wants to be a girl or a girl who wants to be a boy. #SolidariT
I think it was being 'born in the wrong body'. I knew I was bisexual since I was 12 because I read the word bisexual in a magazine and something clicked inside me. Imagine if I had read the word non-binary, what kind of teenhood I could have had? #SolidariT
I came out after I finished secondary school because I was already bullied for being 'weird' and 'different'. My reasoning was I didn't want to give them another reason to bully me. There was only about 3 out people in my year, none of them were trans. #SolidariT

06/01/2019 - 78 years ago today, the longest-serving #UnitedStates #President, #Franklin D. #Roosevelt (#FDR) addressed the 77th #Congress with his "#Four #Freedoms" speech with the intent to shift #US #foreign #policy from that of #neutrality to #interventionist.
#FDR promoted the idea that the people of the world, in all nations, shared entitlement to four freedoms: that of the freedom of speech and expression, the freedom of worship, the freedom from want and the freedom from fear.
#FDR is arguably one of the most 'successful' #US Presidents. Some would argue that on the basis of his numerous social policies such as 'the New Deal'. Others, however, would argue that his role during the second world war was more prevalent to his success & everlasting legacy.

The research debunked the "Left Behind" thesis: the likelihood of voting for Trump was *not* affected by real or perceived deterioration in one's financial situation (loss of job or income between 2012 and 2016; harm from foreign trade; unemployment etc)
Dr. Mutz reviewed other data, including National Opinion Research Center (University of Chicago) surveys, that supported this finding: anxieties about retirement, education and medical bills had little impact on whether a person supported Trump.
