1/ May 2017 - Rosenstein recommends the firing of Comey for his actions in 2016. Then appoint Mueller thereby extracting the Russia investigation from McCabe and the FBI. Most of the existing team, including Strzok, Page, Weissman and others, are transitioned to Mueller.
2/ June 2017 - At the outset of the S.C. Rosenstein signs the final renewal of the Page FISA.

3/ July 2017 - Texts between Page and Strzok are uncovered. Strzok is immediately removed from the Mueller probe.

4/ August 2017 - Rosenstein expands the scope and, as pointed out by Nunes, asks Mueller to investigate the claims made in the dossier.

5/ It seems from the broad timeline that Rosenstein added the claims in the dossier in the scope once it became clear to him the Woods procedures weren’t followed in the FISA that he was asked to sign off on. RR asked Mueller to do what should have been done to begin with.
6/ In effect the Mueller report says if the Woods procedure had been followed then there never would have been a Carter Page FISA.

1/ Interesting timeline of Assange events.

Ecuador grants citizenship and then a few days later, on December 19 2017, they name him councillor in their Russian Embassy.

UK rejects status and Assange escape to Russia “fails”.
2/ Immediately following, 12/21/17, a criminal complaint against Assange is filed under seal in Federal Court. This is the beginning of criminal process that recently led to Assange arrest and attempted extradition.

3/ Then Assange tweets his famous “chessboard” tweet on 1/12/18.

Seems Assange becomes aware that he will escape the attempt to defeat him.

We don’t know everything. We have a limited scope of information. In that environment speculation is all we have. If you pretend to know or have inside info and you’re wrong then that’s one thing. I admittedly have none of that. 1/3
At the same time when new info contradicts me I adjust and acknowledge error. Dowd’s interviews (I’ve listened to both of them) do not provide any new info on the Mueller appointment or the Oval Office interview. 2/3
All of the melodrama he describes about Rosenstein and Sessions was already known. And I earlier posted an article that explains he was factually wrong about some of it.

I’m not a journalist. I speculate. I care about being as accurate as that sort of thing allows. 3/3

1/ Dowd says no one knows why Rosenstein appointed a S.C. and no one knows why he selected Mueller. Dowd says up to that point after Comey’s firing there had been no discussion of appointing a S.C.
2/ Then he describes a melodrama that includes Sessions offering his resignation and Rosenstein behind his desk asking if Trump would fire him.
3/ Dowd says no one knows how Rosenstein and Mueller got together or why Mueller was picked. He says no one has ever answered any questions about that.

1/ Thread: In light of today’s @nytimes report that the #FBI in mid-May ‘17 began to investigate whether President Trump is a #Russian agent, look again at Special Counsel #Mueller’s Dec. 4 pre-sentencing Memorandum in the Michael #Flynn case.
2/ Mueller was appointed Special Counsel about a week after the FBI opened this investigation of Trump. Mueller was appointed to supervise it & other matters, both counter-intelligence & criminal, all related to Russia.
3/ One of the criminal matters was whether Flynn, in Jan. ’17 when he was National Security Adviser, lied to the FBI about recent conversations with Russia’s ambassador to the U.S.
