Just got finished with @ScottMStedman's Real News, and one takeaway is that there are other figures in the NRA/Russia nexus not previously reported on, or not reported on that much, including Alan Gottlieb and Dr. Lozansky (who has been reported on by @grantstern).
Another facet of this I didn't really know about was that the effort to bring the NRA and Russia together was traced back to Alexander Torshin's effort to get a meeting with former AK Gov. and 2008 GOP VP nominee Sarah Palin back in 2009.
It makes you wonder just how many others not known about were involved in this nexus between the NRA and Russia. I've named 15+ people not named Maria Butina and Paul Erickson who could face indictments in the future, but it may be more expansive than even I thought.
Consider one figure in this who's name showed up in in the #MuellerReport a staggering 124 times (and remember there's no mention of the NRA in that report). Dimitri Simes, who like former NRA President David Keene, goes back to the Watergate-era.
Simes was also part of the NRA infiltration effort by Russia, so he's definitely a part of the NRA/Russia nexus. Then there's Dmitriy Osipkin, who chairs the Foundation for the Development of Promising Defense Technologies. What's his role in all this?
