1. If told you years ago that DJT will become President you would think that I was crazy. So consider that as I reveal these fears:

DJT wants to be President for life. And Ivanka to succeed him. Take that seriously.
2. DJT is keeping the doors wide open for more Russian interference in 2020.

GOP will need to help as they are complicit in laundering of Russian oligarch money into their PACs. Expect even more voter suppression in places like NC, WI, MI.
3. DJT will weaponize the DOJ to close down any investigation of election interference.

If DJT thinks that election polls look bad, he will talk of terrorist threats and need to cancel elections.
4. I am not saying DJT will succeed necessarily, but if Dems don't understand that all this are potentialities, there will be an insufficient response.

Treat DJT as serious. Because we did not in 2016.

1. @AriMelber's interview of McCabe confirms what I thought in May of 2017 when Trump fired Comey using the memo that Rosenstein wrote.

Rod knew that he was wrong to write that memo to hide the real reason for the firing because he knew Trump's real intent.
2. So Rod hiring Mueller upon McCabe's suggestion (and during a time that Rod was really stressed that he was perhaps an accomplice to an obstruction of the Russia probe) was an attempt for him to correct his action of writing the memo that was a cover up of DJT's true intent.
3. Rosenstein therefore knew that Comey firing was all about the Russia probe and therefore sought to shield DJT from his worst impulses. But by writing that memo, Rod was not acting like the DAG but acted to cover up DJT's intent (DJT admitted it anyway to Lester Holt).

1. Knowing how Russia now operates, I recall an experience I had in 2006 at the NBA All Star game.

I shared a ride with 2 Russians to the game and wanted to talk about the Yukos owner Khodorovsky who was jailed by Putin. Khodorovsky was then the richest man in Russia.
2. Although I was horrified and troubled that this might be anti-Semitism, the Russians assured me that Khodorovsky had it coming. Because he did not do what Putin wanted. This was considered to be perfectly appropriate to these Russians. They even laughed about it.
3. This is the type of society that Putin has succeeded in building. There is no rule of law. Only the law of Putin.

This Bezos controversy is an important test of how US may ultimately be different. But it's also indicative of DJT's thinking that Bezos must toe the line.

Comey's attitude about Hillary emails was influenced by fake documents sent to FBI by Russian intel in March 2016.

2. Comey's dangerous attitude that he could break FBI policy by unilaterally announcing conclusions of the email probe led to his July 2016 announcement and later softened him up for the Wiener laptop famous Comey letter.

45 years ago today, delegates arrived at the Capital Hilton hotel in Washington DC for Day One of the 7th annual World Anti-Communist League (WACL) conference, the first to be hosted in the United States. #thread
A few months before Richard Nixon resigned, the President's Deputy Special Assistant, Burce Herschensohn, delivered the keynote address at WACL-7. Senator Jesse Helms (R-NC) co-chaired the conference with Congressmen Phil Crane (R-IL) and Clement Zablocki (D-WI).
The event was officially hosted by the American Council for World Freedom (ACWF), which had just elected Phyllis Schlafly's husband its new president. As an important member of the ACWF, Lev Dobriansky had a substantial role in organizing the conference.

Note how they adopted (not in the same words) two Assad slogans:
- "Assad or we ruin the country": We will never give up power even if it means complete ruin
- "Assad forever": We are the end of your history. We will rule you all our lives and then our children will.
Variations and undertones of this can be clearly seen in the narratives of Arab dictatorships. MBS taking Saudi Arabia towards pariah status while simultaneously saying he'll rule the next 50 years. Sisi setting himself to become president for life.
Plus the erratic foreign policy that tests the limits of the relationship with their classical Western allies - torturing Western grad students, imprisoning Western academics, hacking Western elections, bribing Western politicians. This isn't rational strategy, it's hysteria.

Years ago, I used to say the best time to have money is when you’re young and can enjoy it. Now, I’ve realized that you need money more when you are older. Kids, retirement etc. Don’t be desperate. You don’t have today, you can have tomorrow & still enjoy life.

There is no latecomer in the “success world” or “rich world”. Whenever you get there, you are welcome. You will enjoy your life and almost forget you ever suffered. It doesn’t have to be now and there is no prize for being the first person to get “there”.
When I was in my teens and early twenties & a bit of late twenties, I used to marvel at how some of my age mates were enjoying life. I felt I would never catch up and they were already ahead of me. Tah! There is nothing like that. Today, none of us remembers who succeeded first.

My date followed up by asking, “If your boyfriend asked you to cook for him, would you?” I grinned, as I realised my date was sadly playing from a script. I replied, “I don’t have a guy I like who’s asking me to cook, so I can’t say.”
I think my date thought I was being coy. But, I wasn’t. I was just being honest. A while ago, I decided to deal in reality and not hypotheticals. I have tried and failed to control life. All my effort got me was an anxiety problem and therapy.

She was telling me that in order to focus for a certain task when switching from another, it helped her to either meditate or play the guitar for 10 minutes, which I think is another way of meditation #thread 👇
She told me that sometimes she didn't do that, but lately, she was told to go do that by @emecibelli.
This is an example of great leadership IMHO.
A lot of times, managers push people to work nonstop not realizing that by doing that, they're making people be... 👇
... slower because they're not aware what their direct report really need to work better, happier and faster.
As leaders, we all need to listen and understands much more the people that work with us, because after all, a company is not more than a sum of people :).
