Kamala Harris just obliterated Bill Barr. Just watch.
My favorite parts: Harris calls Bill Barr "conflicted, biased."
Barr invokes Rod.
Harris says Rod was a key witness to the obstruction.
Barr says he assumes Rod was cleared.

Background: Rosenstein participated in the firing of Comey and witnessed corrupt intent. He should have recused from the obstruction case, especially the charging decision.

FWIW, Burr > Barr.

More math: a bar symbol often signifies a radical or a repeating decimal.
Barr is a radical who repeatedly decimates the Constitution.

Enough already with the Barr mantra "There was no underlying crime, so no obstruction."
1. This is utterly wrong as a matter of law and common sense.
And:
2. Trump is an unindicted co-conspirator in a flagrant campaign finance felony, hush-money to pornstar. Cohen pled guilty.
And 3. Mueller documented a preponderance of evidence of conspiracy and illegal coordination with Russian govt (through Kilimnik and separately through Assange). Obstruction made it harder to get from preponderance to “beyond reasonable doubt.”
4. Even if Manafort sharing polling data with the Russian govt through a Russian spy is not a felony by Manafort or Trump, it is probably a civil election law violation punishable by a fine.
Obstructing civil investigations - or to avoid embarrassment - is also a felony.

Harris ran for DA as anti-death penalty. She was elected. Those who are pro-death penalty will always object. Harris is right. Reviving this 15yrs later panders to the #GOP.

Clarifying that I meant #Harris was right on her death penalty stance and that it is my stance that @CNN reviving this story is the pandering aspect.

One feels for the widow, but we are not served by the death penalty in a civilized society..

(THREAD) The already-infamous "Barr Letter" is a deeply dishonest and misleading document that richly deserves methodical public evisceration by committed journalists. So I hope you'll read on and retweet this "live" dismantling of the Trump-Russia probe's worst political hitjob.
1/ Barr begins by conceding that, in accordance with DOJ regulations, the report he has received from Mueller only summarizes "prosecution or declination" decisions—meaning that it may well not include much of the raw evidence Mueller compiled, and be sparsely conclusory in form.
2/ Though Mueller may not have included raw evidence in his report—which mainly summarizes who he charged or didn't and why—Barr observes that "the report explains that his staff thoroughly investigated" the allegations, thus confusing the raw evidence and what Mueller told Barr.

President Trump has long borne a deep resentment over the recusal of AG Jeff Sessions, which many of us viewed as a necessary ethical step. The problem was not the recusal of Sessions but the fact that it was not immediately followed by the recusal of Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein.
The precarious ethical position of Rosenstein just became far more acute with a new report that he ignored demands within the Justice Department to remove himself in 2017.
