april had 5 mondays, so it's been THREE WEEKS since the last city council meeting and this agenda looks long. lots to be on the lookout for tonight: divestment! the climate action plan! and, under the boring heading of "west main streetscape," some discussion of a racist statue.
the lewis & clark statue at the intersection of west main & ridge gets forgotten about a lot in our discussion of charlottesville's deeply racist statues, but to depict sacagawea COWERING behind the 2 useless colonizers she saved is disgusting. image source: https://www.flickr.com/photos/24304517@N02/5578433176<br />

moving the statue out of the intersection was not part of the original streetscape redesign. mayor walker brought up late last year that if the project necessitated moving it at all... maybe we could move it OUT.
