Report says, "Activities like farming, logging, poaching, fishing and mining are altering the natural world at a rate unprecedented in human history.” None of them have anything to do with "fossil fuel economy." If anything fossil fuels help reduce burning wood for fuel.
As for "shrinking the local climates" [whatever the f*ck that means], the much vaunted biodiversity came about partly by adapting to changes in climate in the first place. Any biodiversity, just like snowflakes, that needs 'safe spaces' to survive is unlikely to survive for long.
That is not to say that the issue of paying attention to and finding ways to avoid thoughtless biodiversity decline is not important. It is. However, the worst case biodiversity decline from climate change will be less than 5%. And even then ...
“If climate change were the only problem we were facing, a lot of species could probably move and adapt,” Richard Pearson, an ecologist at the University College of London, said. Ergo, the real problem of biodiversity decline originates in factors other than fossil fuels.
But hey, I am @AOC and I will beat the drum of "fossil fuels are villains" no matter what the problem or what a good solution might be, because I have been programmed to do so by my indoctrinators. All hail the mindless #GreenNewDeal that not even a single Senator voted for.
