Trump will keep pissing on Dems’ heads until they impeach him. he’ll look powerful, they’ll look weak; his base will be energized, theirs deflated. this is the simplest test of Pelosi’s career and she’s failing it

1) when impeachment fails in the Senate Dems will look like they did everything they could. the idea that they’ll look weaker *than they do now* is a joke

Trump’s biggest political asset is macho theater. that means toughboy jibberish, but it also means *doing* stuff. he understands people follow active characters... whenever he was the proactive candidate in 2016, he did better. impeachment would make him passive. it’d neuter him
even some Dems who are open to impeachment don’t want to start the process during an election year... practically speaking it’s now or never. *maybe* she’s slow-rolling, but Occam’s Razor suggests it’s what she’s told people it is: she’s stalling to avoid it
when it comes to inside-baseball shit voters take their cues from elected leaders; if Dem leaders all say Trump should be impeached and *act* like it those numbers will shift quickly. it’s absolutely damning of those leaders that Warren’s up there alone today
that includes Bernie, btw. I like him, I’d admire him, I’d vote for him in her absence, etc etc, but he could step up here and he isn’t. and even if you think Warren only did it to boost her numbers, her numbers are rising and his are falling, so maybe he should think about it!
