1/ So I have a friend named Bruce. My father also has a friend named Bruce. His Bruce runs the sound for major events in Philly. When I was younger he used to pay me to work the events. I got to go to all the dope concerts and events for free.

2/ This one time he was doing a party at the Abington YMCA (Philly suburbs). All I ever had to do was help set up, then check on the speakers etc. And of course run errands when he hit me on the walkie talkie.

3/ So at the Y party, I’m chopping it up with this girl who’s behind the concessions stand with the adults working the party. We laugh and goof off. She was pretty and super cool. After awhile, she gets ready to leave. So I ask for her number.

4/ She taps me on the shoulder like the youngbul I was and called me cute. Says she only dates older guys. I think I was 16 or 17 at the time and she was 15. She smirked, was super sweet, then walked away. Probably embarrassed for me.

12/ I learned a lot from that encounter. Mostly to never be star struck. I talked to her like a regular person, and she reciprocated. Had I approached her like a celebrity, she would've treated me like a fan. Or a groupie *gasp*

13/ So fast forward a few years. Bruce hits me up and tells me he needs me to work. It's Powerhouse, the biggest most ratchetastic event of the year.

14/ Of course I'm with the shits. It's a two night concert and the night he needed me, it was Mystikal, Lil Kim, Mya, Carl Thomas, and two Philly groups, No Question and RAM Squad.

15/ I meet Bruce at the First Union Center, grab my All Access badge (you couldn't tell me I wasn't the shit) and chilled back stage with RAM Squad.

16/ I'm eating free food, making people laugh, pretending I was supposed to be there and shit. Bruce hits me on the walkie and tells me to meet him side stage.

17/ I go, he gives me a couple errands to run, and as I'm walking off, he yells over to me, "And help Wendy off the stage!"

19/ I go to the stairs that lead to the stage, as she's approaching. She had on some humongous shoes so I was happy to help her. I reached out my hand. She initially reached back. Then slapped my hand away

20/ So now I'm like hella offended. There was no need for her to slap my hand away. She could've just said "No Thank You" and kept it pushing. So my North Philly ass is about to pop off, but Bruce sees me and gives me "the look." So I chilled

21/ I go do the errands for Bruce. I come back to the backstage area and Mya (yes, @MYAPLANET9) is on stage. Crowd is going crazy. She finishes, and walks down the back ramp and chills.

22/ I walk over to her and say, "Nice set. You killed it." She says, "Thank you" in response. I'm about to walk off, and she says, "No, thank you. Means a lot." So I sat next to her and sparked conversation.

23/ We start chopping it up. She was super cool. She's laughing. I'm laughing. It's great. A few minutes pass, and Carl Thomas walks by, sees us talking, gives me the "I see you youngin!" nod.

24/ Minutes pass (seems like way more time but it wasn't), and I was sitting with her talking about everything and nothing. I was being myself. Completely comfortable. It was great. Until it wasn't

25/ Wendy walks down the ramp and turns left into a room. She BACKS up, and looks down the ramp and sees us talking. Proceeds to walk the rest of the way down the ramp. Grabbed Mya by the arm and said, "Girl! Why Are you talking to the help?"

26/ Literally grabs Mya by the arm, pulls her back up the ramp and says, "C'mon, we gotta go do an interview"

28/ Mya turns around and says, "I'll see you at the After party right?" NOPE! Couldn't make it. If I'm remember correctly I think it was 25 to get in and I wasn't old enough, and I had to help Bruce load out any fucking way.

29/ Never saw her again. And it sucks that @MYAPLANET9 or Wendy Williams probably have ZERO recollection of this. But it's cool.

30/ The good news is, I hung out with Carl Thomas' entourage the rest of the night. The RAM Squad guys dapped me up for having the courage to sit and speak with her. Guess all's well that doesn't end well.

1. Wendy was trash af for what she did. I do feel bad for what she's going thru right now tho, but doesn't change what happened.
