The Senate Intel Committee—led by Republican Richard Burr—has subpoenaed Don Jr. to testify. That makes sense, because there’s reason to believe he may have lied to Congress last time, on four big topics: justsecurity.org/61682/perjury-…
-He claimed he was only “peripherally aware” of efforts to build Trump Tower Moscow. Documents and testimony from Michael Cohen show that Trump Jr. was looped in pretty much every step of the way. nbcnews.com/politics/donal…
-He said there was “no follow-up at all” from the June 9 meeting in Trump Tower. Turns out there were plenty of emails afterward, including one specifically referencing something discussed at the meeting. judiciary.senate.gov/imo/media/doc/…

Given the evidence, it’s an open question why Mueller didn’t interview him. We know from his report that Trump Jr. “declined to be voluntarily interviewed by the Office”—although the next passage, which might have further information, is redacted. justice.gov/storage/report…
Trump Jr. may be one of the 14 criminal referrals Mueller included at the end of his report. Or Mueller may have worried that subpoenaing Trump Jr. might put his whole investigation in jeopardy. nbcnews.com/politics/donal…
