Is Thornberry suggesting that the Ecuadorians "clearly" warned the Americans, because that is not what the Ecuadorians have said? Or is she just making the same assumptions about the little brown country doing what it's told, just like those she's distancing herself from?
Thornberry has 'clearly' smelt the coffee and will doubtless pick up the praise for doing so. What commentators will not do is notice her side swipe at the Ecuadorians that is actually a continuation of the same conspiracism others have advanced. Neat trick.
Just checking the reactions and yep, across the board people aren't picking up what she's actually saying about Ecuador. They really are the invisible people in this whole farce.

Neither Carden not Stop The War say anything about issues like 55,000 people trapped without aid in Rukban Camp in southern Syria. A situation where the UK government has a duty to help but is refusing. syriauk.org/2018/10/rukban…
He's Shadow Minister for International Development. Carden's footprint on Syria is mainly about opposing bombs, rather than, say, issues like what's happening to a Syrian refugee camp. As is STWC's.

I was a reporter in the Supreme Court the day @tribelaw gave the oral arguments in #BowersvHardwick, of the most historic cases in LGBT history. I am stunned to hear that he missed the ensuing 33yrs of LGBT activism and how many of us have spoken publicly about our gay lives.
While common for straight people to be unaware of the substance of our queer lives, for a strong ally like @tribelaw to assert this is disheartening. It implies the work done by so many of us over decades has failed to resonate, which undermines the very fabric of that activism.
I was the 1st out lesbian with a column in a daily newspaper. As a teenager I was expelled from high school for being a lesbian, I've faced discrimination my entire life. I wrote this last week:

Alisa wrote an article for @TGC on why people are leaving Christianity.

She says it's because:
1. We are questioning the Bible
2. We have "unresolved" issues with why there's evil in the world.
3. We want morals that don't discriminate people.

Here's my thoughts...
1. Authority should be questioned. Bible included. It's a Frankenstein book. Research "Yahweh" and find the Bible wasn't always monotheistic. Think of all the robed men you'd have to trust 100% to write, edit, and pick the right writings while 100% certain the world is flat.
Discouraging people to question the authority of the Bible is insanely unhealthy. That's Spiritual Abuse. Total disregard for your logic.

Contradictions matter when you claim to be the sole authority of Truth in the Universe.

I'm one of a few million Americans awake when we should be sleeping because of the pain of #cancer or some other chronic illness.

Adding to our sleeplessness is knowing #healthcare is under threat. We may not be able to afford it due to the #GOP's actions.

It's terrorizing.
My parents were Civil Rights workers. My father was a Freedom Rider. As a small child I was taught the legacy of #MLK.
I watched people invoking MLK on Monday. Not in defense of #votingrights or in outrage over how the #SCOTUS ruled on two pivotal cases on gerrymandering.

MLK wasn't being invoked for #votingrights but for Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who lies to America every day about policies that could very well kill me & others.

Policies that are hurting millions.

Policies that have kept me a citizen without equal rights in my own country.
