It’s time people see AJ+ & AJ English for what they are: Qatari state propaganda. It baffles me that AJ has escaped scrutiny in a way that RT has not when its agenda is so transparent.

This is the AJ+ video that Al Jazeera is trying to remove from the internet. A Muslim presenter compares Israel to the Nazis and says the country has actually benefited the most from the holocaust.

Today, Ilhan Omar is the featured speaker at a Seattle Ramadan fundraiser w/CAIR, an org the United Arab Emirates accuses of being a terrorist entity. The group is also an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land terror funding case. Apparently there is a protest planned.

Wilson works in Portland & has demonstrated a pattern of downplaying antifa & far-left criminal activities. His writings are usually unchallenged even when shown to be inaccurate (see his report on FBI classifying Proud Boys as extremist group). He’s also targeted me personally.
This thread is important in showing how activists sympathetic to antifa are masquerading as journalists & mainstreaming those extremist ideas.
Important to document Jason Wilson’s reliance on antifa ideologues in his writings. Just google Jason Wilson + Mark Bray, Alexander Reid Ross, Shane Burley, Spencer Sunshine to see how he subtly mainstreams the extremist ideas of antifa ideologues in publications like Guardian.

Antifa & its supporters don’t just target me. They’ve attacked other journalists on public spaces within eye of police who do not nothing. The mayor/police commissioner @tedwheeler doesn’t condemn their harassment & assault of media in Portland.

#Thread 1/ Today's a day when I think a lot of people are going to be discussing and critiquing #journalism Since I've been teaching the subject for quite some time now, here's some things I tell my students about their relationships to public officials.
2/ The first rule of #journalism, even in the @spj_tweets code of ethics, is to "seek truth and report it." Sources of truth don't always want it shared. Everyone wants to look good, and when people have chosen to do bad things, they don't want you to expose them.
3/ A side #ProTip for newsmakers: The best way to avoid unfavorable coverage is to not do bad things. It's not 100%, but it works a lot better than other shenanigans you try.

1/ I am an Irish national born in Northern Ireland, Irish by birth & Irish under the Belfast/Good Friday Agreement. I do not hold a British passport yet in 2016 I was told by the UK Home Office that I am automatically British by birth & I'd be unable to secure my husband’s status
2/ The dept suggested I renounce British citizenship in order to rely on my Irish citizenship, if I did so my husband would be able to remain in Northern Ireland as the spouse of an EU national. Under the #GFA we have the right to be accepted as Irish - not British, we appealed

I think the best thing we can do with our teams is create a vulnerability based trust where we can be who we really are. We're never as strong as when we're ourselves.
