Just got done interviewing George Packer about his great book, Our Man, as well as a Iraq, @dsa, Warren, Biden...

Oh and H.R. McMaster came and loved it 👀👀
Anyway this is one of the best nonfiction books I’ve ever read and is a dishy page turner as well as a foreign policy masterclass. Endorse.
And shout out to Packer’s 94-yo mom, a former creative writing professor at Stanford who taught many a famous writer. Not only did she come to dinner with us but she pounded a few glasses of wine and a bete noir chocolate cake and cracked some great jokes 🥂🍰👸
One of her former students—“the best looking student I ever had”—came to see them at dinner. Class of 1962.

Zero sympathy for Hicks. She gets a pass from some because she is young and beautiful. Nobody made you work for a racist autocrat.
I especially love another type of Hope Hicks piece: “she’s so smart. Don’t underestimate her and only focus on her perfectly highlighted hair cascading down her shoulders, she’s very smart, look how she got me to say so.”

Still loyal to a racist bully.
Hicks makes “coy” work for her, especially with the White House press corps. Rare to give comment officially, quick to appear sympathetic to reporters.

If you enable racism, you are a racist. If you enable criminality, you are a criminal.

#Iraq parliament may fail to decide today the largest coalition. The difference is significant:
1. Abadi and Moqtada will present a list including heads of groups and the total of MPs included
2. Ameri & Maliki will present a list with the signature of every MP supporting them/+
#Iraq
Abadi & Moqtada list includes tens of MPs who split and moved to Ameri/Maliki. They insist on representing the total of MPs on their list even if 30-40 left their coalition to the other side. /+

The oldest MP will head the Parliament and will decide what to do: either accept one of the two lists or send it to the court to decide.

The announcement by the #POTUS that he is replacing National Security Advisor LTG H R #McMaster with #Ambassador #JohnBolton is great news. This is an over due change that I wish Mr #Trump had made long ago.
John #Bolton is probably the most experienced and capable #diplomat in America today. He will be coming in at a critical time when the #President needs solid advice on dealing with #Iran, #NorthKorea, #Russia, #ISIS, and an array of other threats.
As for LTG #McMaster, I thank him for his service and wish him the best in the future. That said, there were issues, as I see them, regarding the #General’s tenure.
