My Brexit European election take - voters want it sorted, and have spoken in such a way as to make that even more difficult than before. Never was leadership so badly needed and so lacking now and probably in coming months
For many Conservatives no-deal may look attractive but as @Sime0nStylites perceptively points out the vote for that was really not sufficient - and particularly low in London and much of the commuter belt
Labour meanwhile has a double problem - an increasingly expressed dislike of their leader, and hostility to a referendum in a number of heartlands. They still hope to be reactive to an no-deal Conservative leader, but may have to move sooner
The Brexit party came first but their policy has no real coherence either, joining the negotiations is typical populist politics - sounds good, can't happen - and what after leaving?
Brexit also doesn't make Brexit go away unless there's broad consensus on direction allowing the issue to fade - a highly unpopular and contested Brexit will otherwise dominate politics in permanent debate of future relations with the EU
The same is true for the referendum supporters - a remain vote by say 52:48 also does not make the issue go away from UK politics - again we will have a highly contested direction of travel.
At some point, whether soon or 10 years time, some form of consensus which is probably a compromise will emerge - but that's what yesterday makes harder. Hard to see right now where the leadership for that comes from / end
