Okay Twitter. I'm looking for a holiday in the first week of July that:

1) Is Europe (ideally Mediterranean)
2) Is a chill small city or town with history stuff
3) Has good swims (outdoor)
4) Is easy to get to from London
5) doesn't break the bank
6) Is warm/tolerable hot

HELP
I should add that neither of us can drive, which is a limiting factor too.

We're such Londoners. 😂
We don't mind busing/cabbing etc as required though.

There are some big old bruiser cats in our neighbourhood, so I've been teaching #notmycat to fight like the Vietcong.

I think it's important for military historians to realise we have transferable skills.
It's important to be flexible on the battlefield though so I've made sure he's capable of digging in too.
Blitzkrieg tactics will have to wait until we get a Roomba.

There was perhaps a brief period, in the shock after the referendum result where the PM, with careful handling, could have secured an uneasy soft-Brexit consensus.

What we got instead was 'citizens of nowhere'

We needed a deft PM, we got a daft one. THAT'S May's legacy
You don't build consensus by shouting 'traitor' or 'will of the people' at those who disagree with you.

All you do is make them realise you're NEVER going to see their views as valid.

(the reverse is true as well, and why people should never say 'ALL Brexiters are...' etc)
Theresa May ENABLED the demonisation of a set of people who were just as worried about building a better future, and just as proud of being British as those who voted Leave.

She doubled down on legitimising the politics of othering.

It failed. THAT'S her legacy. And it's shit.

2/ Here are the names to know: Trump, Trump Jr., Kushner, Manafort, Gates, Sessions, Page, Papadopoulos, Clovis, Lewandowski, Hicks, Flynn, Prince, Cohen, Sater, Phares, Gordon, and Bannon. That's 18 names—but most played a relatively small role in the narrative. I'll show you.
