a commitment to courage with support from millions of people who voted because they knew something serious had to be done. I know, I know, the Senate won’t prosecute. Of course they won’t. But imagine if their unwillingness to do so in the face of such overwhelming evidence /3

of corruption and abuse and, say, OBSTRUCTION, actually hurt them and helped oust those corrupt, power-hungry sycophants once and for all. What am I missing? Will you insist their is a plan and to just have patience? What about my daughter? What about my son? What about the /4

children counting on us to leave them something better than we found? Don’t we have an obligation to protect them at all costs? What good is a majority if we are too afraid of what might happen to do what is right *right now*? I will take the risk I am laying at my own feet /5

that in my own attempt to add another voice of reason, justice, equity, and fairness to the House that I am openly chastising the very group of people I will need to support to make it even remotely possible for me to be an effective legislator. But I am telling you this /6

right here: I would rather lose than willingly sit by and do nothing. Or even not enough. When we compromise our commitment to our constituents, to our country, and to our Constitution out of fear of election results, then we have become a part of a system that has nothing /7

to do with governing our great republic. We have become politicians, not legislators. We have become lost in a sea of power, profit, and pandering that has led us right here to this day and to this moment. Will the American people, will America, survive? As we roll toward /8

an uncertain and shaky future, I hope those who have the power to save us will consider the courage it took the giants whose shoulders they now stand on to fight for who and what our country has become. I hope they will remember that some day, too, they will be merely ashes /9

and dust and memory. What will your legacy be? How will the future see what you did, and what you didn’t do, when you were called to stand up and to take charge and to lead the way? And how much longer do the rest of us have to wait for you to slow this nightmare down and to /10

commit to making this madness stop, even just temporarily, until we CAN do something in 2020 about these liars, cheats, and traitors. We need you. We need you now. Be brave and bold. It’s not just your job. It’s our country.
