I think twitter is a big of cancer for newer traders
It still is odd for me, because it manipulates me

Everyone on twitter is not just winning, they are winning big

In reality its a given fact that the majority of retail gets rekt

Something is not adding up
Now and then this makes you think like you are the dumbest person in the room, which is not the case.

Its the same with insta, you only see people posting when they are out there doing something cool - which implies to you that they are doing something cool all the time.
I see people on twitter joking about making only 2k profit in one trade, newer traders read this and feel like its a achievable thing to make like 5-10k a day.

Reality is harsh, it should be a achievement if you stop loosing money.
I dont know how to express this but trading is not this flashy, get rich quick cool thing to venture in to.

It actually sucks hard if you want to trade profitable. Its boring, adds no real value to anything, is a lonely task and you basically just waiting the whole day
I did a lot of research on neuro-mechanisms involved in and around trading and it basically described how I felt like when I was intraday trading with like 9-14 h screentime

It drives you fucking nuts, its a mix of dopamine "king of the world" vs. Im going to jump off a bridge
While on winning days you felt like the typical wall street asshole trader on cocaine putting yourself above everyone else thinking you figured it out loosing days can do the same just in reverse

Make you feel sad, depressed, anxious.
And its not like that when you turn off your PC you can switch off your hormones with it. You are a trader 24/7, its not like a normal job where you just go home and can relax.

Markets will be on your mind 24/7, you should know that and really keep a look on your emotions
I just felt the urge to comment something on the state of CT over the last couple of weeks.

Everyone wants to portray himself as the super trader, flashing HUGE SIZE bitmex positions and portraying it as it was a regular thing to make 20 grand in a trade.

thats not normal
Thats why over the past couple of months I developed a more "swing"-trading approach. I play higher timeframes, I buy and sell into trends.

While there are several traders out therre who own intraday trading it just does not give me much utility to stick with it
And dont get me wrong, I made money trading FX intraday - the exchange of time vs. marginal utility added was just not worth it to me.

Its possible to be profitable, but what is profit when you literally hate sitting in front there waiting for a few ticks to happen?
*emotional thread over*

Just wanted to give yall some heads up. You are not stupid or a bad trader, twitter ist just a desilusion.

Keep working on your metrics, track your progress and focus whats working for you. Its not about the PNL its about the progress.
Don't let your hormones trick you into bad situations and only follow your strategy and your plan.

Write down everything you do, how you feel, why you did what you did and become profitable.

Its possible, dont just think you can make 5-figures easily as a beginner
