How Long Should Your Headline Be?

Five, ten, thirty?

Find out here👇🏿

I see a lot of writers (including me) fight over the number of words that should be in a Headline.

And obviously, it's not our fault. We've read tons of copywriting books that says your headline shouldn't
be more than 16 words.

But here's the thing,

Are you more concerned about the number of words in the headline or

To make sure you pass across the right message that interests the reader?

Your headline must not be 16 or below. The most important thing here is making sure
You pull the reader from attention grabbing to attention retaining!

If you'll need a long caption, go on!

Just don't make it too long.

Nobody has the strength and time to read a 50-word headline, not even you!

What you need to know is what length of headline...
will work perfectly fine for the target audience.

If you have to write a 25 word headline in order to cause a group of doctors to read about a NEW heart rate monitor, please go on! Do it!

The goal is not to grab EVERYONE'S attention but to grab...
a target audience's attention.

And once that is achieved, no body gives a damn...if your headline is longer than the description on their matchbox.

Just make sure it's strong enough to pull them through the copy.
