How Long Should Your Headline Be?

Five, ten, thirty?

I see a lot of writers (including me) fight over the number of words that should be in a Headline.

And obviously, it's not our fault. We've read tons of copywriting books that says your headline shouldn't
be more than 16 words.

But here's the thing,

Are you more concerned about the number of words in the headline or

To make sure you pass across the right message that interests the reader?

Your headline must not be 16 or below. The most important thing here is making sure
You pull the reader from attention grabbing to attention retaining!

If you'll need a long caption, go on!

Just don't make it too long.

Nobody has the strength and time to read a 50-word headline, not even you!

What you need to know is what length of headline...

A headline as the name implies;

is the head statement that decides whether the next line will be read or not.

It should be able to grab the the attention of your client who is scrolling through Kim Kardashians photos.

It should make them say: "hmm, tell me more.."

Read on👇🏿
A good headline should raise curiosity and also promise a benefit.

Don't just raise curiosity. Give them a little hint of what they should expect from the next line.

P.S: there's no permanent format for writing a headline. IDEAS for GOOD HEADLINE could spring up from anywhere..
Don't box yourself in, by using one format.

If you have one that works effectively, feel free to use it as many times as you want.

But don't fail to experiment new creative ones.

If you want to gain better ideas for good headlines, make sure you READ COPIES ALWAYS

Every Graphic Designer NEEDS a Copywriter

Here's why...

I was on my way back from fixing my laptop yesterday, when I saw a large billboard from afar.

The design and colour of this billboard was so cool, so I wanted to know the message

on it. But it was very difficult...
I couldn't read anything on it except the last word that said "Fruitful" the rest of the message was too tiny and faint to read.

The only way I could read this billboard was to come very close to it.

And I thought to myself, "will a busy person have all the time to come very
close to read what it says?

The answer is No!!!

No one would have all that time to try to know what you're talking about.

What they'll all say is:
"This is beautiful" and that's all.

They go their way.

As a graphic designer, learn to keep a copywriter close. If you...

Comparing hypocrisy of Dems getting rid of the independent council statute and replacing with the OSC and new regulations that Mueller had to work under. Here’s the reality in my opinion.
2)This political partisanship has been practiced by both party’s to the detriment of the people of this country & transparency in government.
Both party’s are guilty of it, although there are differences in the predicates for investigations & outcomes.
3)For those of us old enough to understand politics of the last several decades, there is more clarity and knowledge of the events that led to all of this. The independent council for Clinton started over a land deal White Water in which the Clinton’s were not guilty of a crime.

#Oxford's city centre is dying at astonishing speed. So many boarded-up shops, you could mistake this very rich city for one of the most depressed places in Britain. Thread/
Its famous Covered Market, founded in 1774, once fully occupied by small independent businesses, is in serious trouble. 5 of its 9 fresh food sellers have closed in the past 2 years.
Why is this happening? Because, with massive council support, the focus of the city has been shifted half a mile westwards with the massive enlargement of the Westgate Centre, a shopping mall known to some residents as the Death Star.

Li Yang, who founded a chain of spas that included the one where Bob Kraft was busted for soliciting prostitution, ran a company selling access to Trump family and admin officials. Her site, GY US Investments LLC, was taken down, but you can still find the photos online.
The website for her company has an archived version on the Wayback Machine, and the photos from her photo gallery are still available online.

This one was labeled "Founder Yang Li and banker Mrs. Elizabeth Trump-Grau (Prague Trump's sister's private dinner)"
The site used the photos to demonstrate the access they could sell to clients. This photo is labeled "Philanthropist Terry, founder Yang Li and banker Mrs. Elizabeth Trump-Grau (President Trump's sister), Li Zhonggang, director of the Asian Republican National Committee."

#New PA cong. map increases D chance of winning the House majority by 4%. They only need a 6.8% generic ballot margin now (down from 7.7) to be favored.

Diff. will be closer to 10% in Nov when uncertainty from polls is ⬇️. Redraw is a very big deal.

One major reason the new PA map is such a big gain for Democrats is that it solidifies, not just tips, PA districts in Philly burbs. Also creates one additional vulnerable R district. (Easily seen in this map made by @JMilesColeman)
My forecasting model will have new PA map in the near future. This is not just a simple switch; it’s a coding redesign, restructuring of input, & drawing new geographic files. Takes a while (for me, a student).
