Glad @dnvolz reminded me; a little annoyed I didn’t circle back to that in my own testimony, but an itemized fact check would’ve burned all my time.
The FISC imposed very strict rules! NSA only queried the database like 300 times a year! When they were following the rules. The other 17,835 queries don’t count.
I’m sure he meant to mention the second number; probably just slipped his mind.

Arbitrary Wagner/Ring thread. Apologies in advance. Apparently there’s substantial scholarly fuss about why Siegmund sings the “renunciation of love” motif in Walküre when he’s yanking Nothung from Hunding’s living-room tree & verbally pledging himself to “Holiest Love.”
I think this one is super straightforward. Whatever the lyrics say, Siegmund is grabbing another metallic artifact of power, and committing to deploy it in combat with Hunding, rather than just GTFO.
Alberich’s text and music are in synch when he renounces love for power, because he understands the tradeoff he’s making. Siegmund’s text and music aren’t, because he makes the same trade without understanding it.

Is this, like, some weird test to see if he can get Hannity to angrily insist that the moon is clearly part of Mars, and so-called “scientists” who claim otherwise are promoting a biased anti-Trump agenda?
That’s an awfully weird way to say it, but as an alternative to “the president has finally lost his last slender tethers to sanity” I’ll take it.

There’s a lot wrong with this piece, but this bit jumps out. Freedom of “the press” (publishing) is explicitly Constitutionally protected to make clear that expression was no less protected when aimed at a mass audience, at a time when much of Europe specially regulated printing.
As April acknowledges in the next graf, the restrictions on literal broadcasting were heavily contingent on the use of a scarce, publicly administered resource (radio spectrum). Absent that, the “broadcast”
analogy is misleading. YouTube is just a very big publisher.
It’s frankly a bit weird that she acknowledges this, then just sort of drops it. But to underscore why it’s a problem, try a thought experiment. Imagine instead of having a popular YouTube channel, Crowder or whomever just hosted the videos on their own site.

(1) A dirt-bag private security contractor approached a clerk in a store I go to on a regular basis & started to prompt her to engage me in conversation with my personal information.

So after several weeks of the verbal abuse and references to my private information ....
(2) I decided to call the corporate office, located some thirty miles away from that store's location.

I know that the individuals at Fort Meade AKA #NSA or #CyberCommand - the same ones engaged in #treason & #WarCrimes are monitoring my computer in real time.
(3) So they watched me look up the phone number for the corporate office in real time and also had advanced knowledge of what I was going to do via their highly illegal & terroristic Remote Neural Monitoring operation.
