Once Russia had helped Trump win in 2016, Trump didn't need to produce policy results for Russia to induce assistance in 2020 *until* the 2020 campaign started. Every policy gift Trump gives Russia now that doesn't benefit America should be seen as aiding/abetting Russian crimes.
1/ It's illegal to induce a crime with financial enticements or (in Trump's case) those *plus* policies representing a windfall for Russia. Policy negotiations are fine, but any new sanctions relief or sudden about-faces on foreign policy with *no benefit to America* are suspect.
2/ For instance, how to explain Trump's about-face on Libya? During the campaign he seemed not to oppose its UN-backed government; in January 2017, his adviser Erik Prince even told the Russians to stay out of Libya. Now Trump backs Khalifa Hifter just like MBS and Putin do. Why?
3/ There must be a laser-like investigative focus on Trump's foreign policy from now until Election Day. Any inexplicable reversal of our foreign policy that pleases Putin and can't be linked to our national interests must be read as possible illegal inducement of Kremlin crimes.
