You could spend £300 on a bike, skip the bacon butty (if that's your thing) and donate £9,700 to a homeless charity changing the lives of a huge number of people. Way more karma. Good for the body and the soul ->
X : Good for the soul?
Me : Well, it beats spending £10k on a bike, claiming it as a tax deductible expense on your consultancy company and then whinging about benefit claimants as some sort of leech on the system whilst you tuck into your third bacon butty.
X : Are bicycles tax deductible?
Me : You're kidding? Or maybe not. You know that somewhere, some plonker has tried to claim a £10k bicycle as a legitimate tax deductible expense for "travel" in their consultancy company. It's so shameless that it has bound to have happened.
X : What's wrong with it?
Me : Are you off your head? Tax deductions on consultants using £10k bicycles whilst huge numbers of people are using food banks and 14m are in poverty? It would be mad, unethical and totally callous.
