1) Amazing that Youtube, with Google possibly under an antitrust investigation (google owns youtube, fyi), is taking the extraordinary steps to stomp out independent commentators and journalists who compete with the MSM and lefty web media. #VoxAdpocalypse
2) This is a demonstration of the power a monopolistic firm has. Youtube has the funding and backing from Google to meet the demands of customers and creators, and it is the only video platform large enough to do so.
3) A firm with the power to pick winners and losers in the marketplace, in this case picking out groups like the MSM, Vox and Daily Beast over independent journalists and commentators, is one of the signs of a monopolistic firm and behavior that they're not allowed to engage in.
4) All that is required now is for the Sherman Antitrust Act to ACTUALLY BE ENFORCED.

@TheJusticeDept where are you all on this?
5) This isn't even about free speech at this point, this is about reigning in the modern day robber barons who have taken advantage of tech markets distorted by decades of government intervention to form giant colluding monopolistic firms.
6) They have and are currently demonstrably crushing competition in an unfair manner using their monopolistic positions and overall strength to distort interrelated markets.
7) Why does it take the government? Can't consumers do so too?

Consumers can, yes. The problem is, most consumers who are hurt by monopolistic practices can't afford to fight these organizations. If they have the money and willpower to, the Sherman Antitrust Act allows them to.
8) But in practical terms, only the government has the inertia, the longevity, and the funding to actually battle these cases out over the decade or so it could take to actually do so. You think shows like @scrowder can afford to go one on one with Google in a courtroom?
9) Right now, I believe one of two things is happening. Either a, Youtube and Google are calling the government's bluff and don't believe they'll ever see a courtroom for antitrust violations, or b, someone told them they'd never see the courtroom for antitrust violations.
10) Me, I want to be an optimist. I really do. I WANT to believe that the glacial-speed justice system actually can push back on the tech giants. When I was on with @PoliticalOrgy a few weeks ago, I kept pressing that it would take antitrust cases to break these monopolies up.
11) Right now, Facebook, Youtube/Google/Alphabet, Twitter, the MSM, they all work together through intermediaries like the SPLC to control competition. They set up proxy groups to generate a false public consensus which they use to crush competition.
12) New social media site threatening Twitter? Crush it, keep their app off everyone's phones which is a fucking death sentence for a social media company.
13) MSM and the old web media hemorrhaging employees, funding, and content? Crush independent competition that have been soaking up the fleeing consumers (exactly what the current move is).
14) Again. Antitrust nukes from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.
