The motion is a purely procedural one.

We've been here before and Labour has failed to support measures ruling out No Deal. This may be different - but wise heads will be sceptical and cynical heads will say this is just a stratagem to interfere with the Tory leadership contest
If the procedural motion passes (prediction: it will) the substantive vote will take place after Tory MPs have chosen the final two leadership candidates.

What does Boris Johnson do if Parliament then rules out his headline policy ('We're leaving on 31 October no matter what')?

Was told by a senior Tory MP - one of the 'good' ones we're surprised to see backing Johnson - that fear of what a Corbyn Government would do is causing colleagues to put the Party first by backing Johnson.

Are people still going on about the BBC licence fee? Am I the only one who thinks there's no good reason to relieve better off pensioners from a charge everyone else has to pay?
Happy to abolish the licence fee - I don't like having to pay for a news service that feels like the mouthpiece of Government. Or if we must pay it, let's have exemptions on a needs basis. Given pensioners are generally better off its hard to justify the status quo.

If politicians actually wanted to reduce the tide of stabbings and rapes they could do so in an instant. But not by (often hypocritical) caterwauling about "middle class drugs users". By decriminalising drug use.
If politicians paid the price for that hypocrisy - lives destroyed or cut short - themselves you have to believe they'd actually tackle the problem. But because it's paid by poor, often black, young men and women all we get is pointless grandstanding.

So, where are we today? Overall I would say that the #Labour #Corbyn strategy is working well, and is likely to see Jez in No. 10 at some point in the next year or just over a year.
The #Conservatives are experiencing what looks to me rather like damage ERM crisis did to them in autumn 1992. Have lost 13 points (!) with @YouGov in just six weeks. Bear in mind that experience shows that such falls get worse for some time - could be headed v low.
The moment MV3 failed to pass was a clarifying one, and therefore welcome here - had been wondering for years what was keeping the CON score so high. It was #Brexit. We're now at 50/50 whether it even happens. They will struggle to recover.

Speaker picks Spelman and Malthouser amendments
just checking what happens if Spelman is passed - surely incompatible with the Malthouser amendment. Not clear if Spelman will be pushed though. Speaker did not say anything which suggests both could be voted on and for...
In theory if spelman is pushed and passed - the Commons could rule out No Deal, then ruled it back in again with Malthouse. In reality Spelman might not be pushed, and Malthousers dont have the numbers and this is about internal Conservative leadership signalling...

Labour/SNP amendments defeated - Lab got 296 votes for its Customs Union vote proposal.

Now it is Grieve amendment - important test of whether Commons wants now to take repeated weekly opportunities to set Brexit agenda...

It/ Cooper need same 25 Tory MPs rebels as in November
- correction the 25 rebels were in early December on the Business of the House motion amendment (on same day as contempt vote). That led to a 321-299 Government defeat despite DUP and 4 Labour voting with Government
Grieve amendment takes control of Commons business away from Government every Tuesday from 12th Feb until Brexit Day. It’s procedural, doesn’t specify what it is to be used for. Some argue realistically required to help Cooper Bill across line
